River Litter Prevention

I know this is off topic from Renewable Energy, however anything that involves preserving our natural resources tickles our fancy. Water preservation is so important. Especially when we are talking about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, or the fact that the Great Mississippi begins in Minnesota and is our responsibility as MN residents to protect it. This is a great article that was sent to me by a colleague whom I had the privilege of working with over the past year. “Litter Be Gone” was the project and boy was that a HUGE undertaking!! We all had our own corners of the city (mine was North Minneapolis) to get as many block club leaders, neighborhood associations, businesses, churches, you name it to host a clean up in their neighborhood in October. Much like the Spring Clean Up, but instead right before that beautiful white stuff covers up all that trash only to leave us a sloppy, goupy, trashy mess in the spring….yuck! Check this article out and see some of the work we do and the partnership we have behind scenes too.
